Launching One World Social Innovation Competition 2012!
As well as in 2011, One World aims to bring together the best examples of how NGOs, local initiatives, government initiatives and activists – to name a few – are using technology, social media and mobile communication to make a real positive impact.One World is the largest and very influential human rights film festival in the world and is firmly established as one of the premier cultural and media events. Our goal is to draw attention to inspiring, innovative and successful solutions being enabled by increased access to technology and new communication tools and channels for the general public and the growing third sector.
Does your project aim to use technology, internet applications and social media to alleviate poverty, fight corruption, support socially excluded or handicapped, protect human rights, assist in crisis or emergency, fight intolerance, organize local community or encourage youth civic participation? Or even something more? Tell us about it and inspire others. We are looking for projects that:
have proven “real world” impact;
effectively solved a social problem by connecting people via technology and social media;
present traditional problems and their solutions in creative and innovative ways, using data visualisation, mapping technology,…
